| After 11 days on the road and surviving on little sleep, cheese nips, cokes, and bottled water, I'm glad to be home!! We started off in Claremore for the Arkansas show. What a show that was for us! My husband's mare, Heaven's Gate Special Design, took home 2 Grands and a Champion of Champions in Foundation Classic. Mary Ann Williams' horses took home the following: Shadowfax Music to My Heart a Reserve in CP Driving Stakes and Fowlers Medicine Man's Snow Feather Grand Champion Youth Horse! Mary Ann's granddaughter also took home Youth High Point in the Miniature Division. Other noteables were also Kendall and Vinny winning their youth driving class (with me tightly gripping the cart as I rode along!) and my mare, Country Star Rosie Flores doing well in Obstacle and Showmanship. Then it was off to Tulsa for Pinto World! |

| Once we got to Tulsa, we had 2 days to "relax" before our classes began. I say "relax" because there was no relaxing for me! This was a National level show and that meant last minute touch ups, practice, and organizing. But if that wasn't enough, I had the great weight of not knowing if I was going to be able to finish my mare, (CSF) Country Star Rosie Flores, undefeated at the World Show! There's no pressure in showing until you stand at the in gate looking into the arena knowing this is the last show for a currently undefeated horse and knowing that you could lose. Fortunately for me and Rosie, someone was watching us. Wenesday started our competition at 7 am sharp with the Mini/Mini B/Pony Trail in Hand Classes. We started the day like we ended the show at Claremore! World Champions in both Mini A (Shadowfax Music to My Heart and Mini B (CSF Vince Gill) Trail in Hand! Rosie followed closely with a 3rd place win in the Pony division! The Pony division was such a tough class for the judges that they had to watch a VIDEO REPLAY of the top 4 horses! Rosie was flawless! Next, we were off to the Color classes and Hunter Pony Mare class for the afternoon! CSF Vince Gill took a World Championship with Kendall Wheeler in Mini B Color and Rosie took an honorable 10th in Tobiano Pony color. Following all the Pony color classes, there was a 30 minute lunch break for the judges before they started the Hunter Pony Halter classes. Back to the stall for a nervous wait (Rosie took a nap!). All day long, Rosie had managed to keep her braided mane braided. It was true Rosie fashion then that when we stood at the in gate waiting to go in for our halter class that SHE SHOOK OUT 2 BRAIDS. For those who've had the opportunity to watch Rosie and I at the shows, she has the uncanny ability to cause some sort of problem at the most critical moments. It was a mad dash to the gate person's announcer booth to find TAPE to resecure her mane. Not the professional image I was looking for in a National level halter class but it would have to do. Fast forward to the individual judges' placings, and I was green with the thought that another horse could take the world. Imagine my surprise and relief, when Rosie and I were the last ones standing when the Reserve World Champion's number had been called. Rosie had done the nearly impossible: won her World Champion Title UNDEFEATED! Now I can relax! That evening, Kendall Wheeler and CSF Vince Gill had the unique opportunity to compete for the Supreme Color Championship in the main arena. The 2 smallest competitors surrounded by some of the most colorful and BIGGEST horses of the show! They both handled it like pros! Miss Kendall has a future in the show arena, that's for sure! |
